Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Newton, IA

A Travel Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in an acute care hospital on a medical/surgical unit on a 13-week contract in Newton, Iowa.

• Assess medical-surgical and telemetry patients and update the plan of care
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and report changes in patient status
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the chart
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications and discharge needs
• Support safe unit flow and respond to changes in acuity

• Active Registered Nurse license in Iowa
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification
• Strong cardiac monitoring, assessment and communication skills

• Trauma Nursing Core Course certification
