Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Downey, CA

A Travel Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in an acute care hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Downey, California. The unit serves adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with a census of 36, handles CVA, TIAs, and some surgical and cardiac overflow, and charts in Allscripts.

• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Manage CVA, TIA, med-surg, and overflow patients
• Administer IV insulin, heparin, and blood products
• Maintain central lines, ports, PICCs, and peripheral IVs
• Assist with feeding tubes, CBI, dialysis prep, surgical drains, chest tubes, and wound care
• Support non-invasive airway care, tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, and rapid response support

• Current California Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification
• 2 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Previous charge experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Allscripts charting system experience
