Travel Med Surg RN in Portland, OR

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Portland, Oregon. The unit averages 37 patients a day, has 40 beds, and uses Epic charting.

• Provide direct care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients
• Administer oxygen therapy, medications, and blood products
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient status
• Manage peripheral IVs, central lines, and PICC lines
• Assist with tracheostomy, chest tube, drain, ostomy, and feeding tube care
• Support care for bowel obstruction, CVA, renal failure, and substance withdrawal
• Follow isolation precautions and collaborate with rapid response support

• Oregon Registered Nurse license, pending license accepted
• BLS certification
• 1 year of medical-surgical experience
• Any charting system experience
• Core med-surg skills in IV access, oxygen therapy, telemetry, line care, and blood product administration

• IV insulin protocols
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• PCA
• Wound care and wound vac management
