Travel Med Surg RN in Portland, OR

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide care on a med surg unit in a hospital for a 13-week contract in Portland, Oregon. The 40-bed unit serves adults and geriatrics, averages 37 patients daily, uses Epic, and is part of a teaching hospital.

• Assess and monitor adults and geriatrics on the med surg unit
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and oxygen support
• Manage lines, drains, ostomies, feeding tubes, and bladder irrigation
• Provide telemetry monitoring and respond to clinical changes with rapid response support
• Perform wound, tracheostomy, and respiratory care as needed
• Coordinate care with therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and other support teams

• Oregon Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 1 year of medical surgical experience
• Charting system experience
• Skill in telemetry, IV care, central and PICC lines, ostomy care, feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, and tracheostomy care

• IV insulin protocols
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• PCA use
• Wound care and wound vac experience
