Travel Med Surg RN in Knoxville, TN

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will care for adults and geriatrics in an acute care hospital medical unit on a 13-week contract in Knoxville, Tennessee. The unit uses remote continuous telemetry and Cerner, with typical ratios of 1:5 to 1:7, and first-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor adults and geriatrics on a medical telemetry unit
• Assess cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products
• Manage central lines, PICC lines and peripheral IVs
• Provide tracheostomy, wound, drain and feeding tube care
• Assist with respiratory support, isolation precautions and hemodialysis care

• Active unencumbered Tennessee or multistate Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of comparable acuity hospital experience
• Cerner charting system experience

• NIHSS
• Teaching hospital experience
• Trauma Level I experience
