Travel Med Surg RN in Indianapolis, IN

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide care in an adult trauma surgical unit in Indianapolis, Indiana on a 13-week contract. The teaching unit serves adults and geriatrics with trauma and surgical patients, uses Cerner charting, and has a 1:5-6 ratio. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Assess adult trauma surgical patients and monitor changes in condition
• Provide wound care, wound vac care, and drain management
• Administer ordered blood products, heparin, insulin, and other therapies
• Maintain isolation precautions and peripheral line care
• Support non-invasive airway management and enteral nutrition care
• Document care in Cerner and coordinate with the care team

• Active Indiana or compact Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification
• 2 years of medical-surgical experience
• Blood product administration, heparin and insulin management, isolation precautions, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, surgical drains, and wound care including wound vacs

• ACLS certification
• Level 1 trauma experience
• Previous charge experience
• Cerner charting system experience
