Travel Med Surg RN in Florence, SC

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide care in an acute care hospital unit on a 13-week contract in Florence, South Carolina. The unit serves adults and geriatrics with common medical-surgical diagnoses and telemetry monitoring. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Provide care for adults and geriatrics with medical-surgical needs
• Monitor telemetry and report changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and support insulin therapy
• Manage IV access, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and feeding tube care
• Perform wound, ostomy, and wound vac care
• Support rapid response efforts and team coordination

• South Carolina Registered Nurse license or compact multistate Registered Nurse license in hand prior to start
• BLS certification
• 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience
• Epic charting experience
• Medical-surgical, MS/Tele, and telemetry nursing skills
• Colostomy and ileostomy care, feeding tube management, insulin therapy, isolation precautions, nasal cannula use, oral suctioning, oxygen tanks, peripheral line care, renal failure care, and rapid response/code team support

• ACLS and NIHSS
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Ports, central line blood draws, PICC lines, blood product administration, heparin, and IV therapy
• Chest tubes, surgical drains, tracheostomy care, hemodialysis support, neurosurgery, orthopedic care, and dysrhythmia management
