Travel Labor and Delivery RN in Salem, VA

A Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide obstetric care in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Salem, Virginia. The unit has 17 inpatient beds, 2 triage spaces, 1:1 to 1:2 ratios, and Meditech and Centricity charting.

• Monitor labor, antepartum, postpartum, and triage patients
• Assist with vaginal, cesarean, epidural, vacuum, and forceps deliveries
• Interpret fetal strips and respond to common obstetric complications
• Start IVs, draw labs, and administer ordered therapies
• Support blood administration, nitrous oxide use, and bedside preparation
• Provide recovery care after cesarean birth and spinal anesthesia

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or C-EFM certification
• Labor and delivery nursing experience
• IV insertion and lab draw skills
• Strip interpretation and obstetric medication knowledge
• Cesarean circulator, antepartum triage, and vaginal exam experience
