Travel Intermediate Care RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Intermediate Care Registered Nurse will provide step-down care for adults and geriatrics in a short-term acute care hospital on a 4-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The unit serves renal patients, uses Epic, and has 30 beds in a Level II trauma center.

• Assess step-down patients with renal and telemetry needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient status
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol
• Manage IV access, central lines, feeding tubes and blood products
• Support pre- and post-hemodialysis care and dialysis team coordination
• Perform respiratory support, isolation care and wound care
• Coordinate with rapid response and interdisciplinary teams

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS and NIHSS
• 1 year of step-down, PCU, IMC or telemetry experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, rhythm interpretation and telemetry care
• Renal, dialysis and central line care skills

• ABG interpretation and insulin drip management
• Pacemaker, chest tube and surgical drain care
• Nephrology experience and stroke care
• Seizure disorder care
