Travel ED RN in Thousand Oaks, CA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care for adults and children in a hospital emergency department on an 11-week contract in Thousand Oaks, California. The 31-bed unit uses Meditech and handles 1:4 assignments in a Level II trauma center with comprehensive stroke, STEMI and EDAP services.

• Assess and prioritize emergency patients
• Provide care for adult and pediatric stroke, STEMI, trauma and cardiac cases
• Start IV access and manage drips
• Assist with sedation, intubation support and ventilator care
• Support chest tube care, rapid transfusion and trauma interventions
• Prepare patients for admission and ongoing emergency care

• Current California Registered Nurse license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC and CPI
• 1 year of emergency department experience with STEMI, stroke and level II or III trauma services
• Experience caring for patients from birth through geriatric age

• 2 to 3 years of emergency department experience with STEMI, stroke and level II or III trauma services
• Triage experience
• Experience in a moderate to large emergency department
