Per Diem ED RN in Torrance, CA

A Per Diem Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency nursing care in an acute care hospital in Torrance, California. The unit cares for neonates through geriatrics, including pediatric, adult, STEMI and stroke patients, and is STEMI- and stroke-certified, with Cerner charting. The patient ratio is 1:4 in a busy emergency setting.

• Assess emergency patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups
• Triage complaints and prioritize care in a high-volume unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in condition
• Support care for STEMI and stroke patients with the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered sedation
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in Cerner
• Coordinate with ancillary services and communicate handoffs clearly

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• 2 years of recent emergency department experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Cerner charting experience
• Combined adult and pediatric emergency department experience
• Continuous IV sedation skills
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills

• TNCC
• ICP monitoring

• EPNC
