Per Diem ED RN in Santa Monica, CA

A Per Diem Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in a hospital in Santa Monica, California. The unit cares for neonates through geriatrics, sees about 120 patients a day in 27 rooms, and documents in Epic. The setting supports a wide mix of emergency and specialty cases, including abdominal pain, overdose, and suicidal ideation.

• Triage patients and prioritize care in a busy emergency setting
• Assess, monitor, and reassess patients across the lifespan
• Administer medications and emergency treatments per orders
• Initiate and maintain IV access and support blood product therapy
• Assist with intubation, conscious sedation, and other bedside procedures
• Manage cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, and behavioral emergencies
• Document care in Epic and coordinate with interdisciplinary services

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• 2 years of recent emergency department experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Epic charting experience
• Los Angeles City Fire Card

• Charge nurse experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Community hospital or LTAC experience
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience
