Travel Speech Language Pathologist in Seward, AK

A Travel Speech Language Pathologist will provide inpatient and outpatient speech therapy services in a critical access hospital in Seward, Alaska on a 13-week contract. The caseload includes adults and geriatrics across inpatient, outpatient, long term care, and swing bed settings, with Epic charting and an average daily census of 9. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Assess swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive communication needs
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations and recommend safe diet strategies
• Treat aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and dysphagia
• Develop and update plans of care with patient and family education
• Document evaluations, reassessments, and discharge recommendations

• Alaska Speech Language Pathologist license
• BLS certification
• 1 year of Speech Language Pathology experience
• Acute care, outpatient, long term care, and skilled nursing experience
• Dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluation, CVA and TBI care
• Medicare A and Medicare B documentation, SLP evaluation coding

• Epic charting system experience
• Alternative communication devices and augmentative communication
• Pediatric outpatient, voice, and fluency experience
