Travel Speech Language Pathologist in Orange, CA

A Travel Speech Language Pathologist will provide swallowing and communication care for adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Orange, California. Epic charting and Magnet designation are noted, and first-time travelers are welcome. The caseload includes general and stroke patients.

• Evaluate swallowing, speech, language, voice, and cognitive communication needs
• Perform bedside swallow assessments and modified barium swallow studies
• Develop and update treatment plans, diet recommendations, and care goals
• Provide therapy for dysphagia, dysarthria, stroke, TBI, and related diagnoses
• Educate patients and families on safe swallowing and communication strategies
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and rehab staff on progress and discharge planning

• California Speech Language Pathologist license, pending accepted
• Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• One year of acute care speech language pathology experience
• Epic charting experience
• Competence with modified barium swallow studies

• MBSImP training
• Fiberoptic endoscopic swallowing evaluation experience
• Laryngectomy experience
• Sign language skills
