Travel Psychiatric RN in Kansas City, MO

A Travel Psychiatric Registered Nurse will provide psychiatric nursing care in a psychiatric hospital on a 13-week contract in Kansas City, Missouri. The unit serves adolescent and adult patients across lower- and higher-acuity areas, with Meditech charting and nurse ratios of 8:1.

• Assess mental health status and behavioral needs
• Develop and update individualized care plans
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor effects
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
• Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and response to treatment
• Use therapeutic communication to build rapport and maintain safety

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• CPI certification
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Psychiatric assessment, medication administration, and crisis intervention skills
