Travel Psychiatric RN in Kansas City, MO

A Travel Psychiatric Registered Nurse will provide direct care for adult and adolescent patients in a psychiatric hospital in Kansas City, Missouri on a 13-week contract. The unit uses Meditech charting and has a 1:8 nurse ratio.

• Assess mental status, behavior, and substance use concerns
• Develop and update individualized care plans
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor responses
• Use de-escalation techniques to support patients in crisis
• Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
• Document care and communication in Meditech
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain a therapeutic environment

• Missouri Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• CPI certification
• Psychotropic medication administration skills
• Therapeutic communication and crisis intervention skills
