Travel Psychiatric RN in Kansas City, MO

A Travel Psychiatric Registered Nurse will provide inpatient mental health care on a 10-bed adult psych unit in Kansas City, Missouri, for a 13-week contract. The role uses Meditech and supports an 8:1 nurse ratio in a psychiatric hospital.

• Assess patients’ mental health status and behavioral needs
• Develop and update individualized care plans
• Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects
• Use de-escalation techniques during crises
• Monitor vital signs, mental status changes, and safety
• Document patient care accurately in the charting system
• Coordinate care with the treatment team

• Missouri Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• CPI certification
• Psychiatric assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention skills
• Therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills
