Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Torrance, CA

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide care for adults and geriatrics with complex acute and chronic illness in an acute care hospital in Torrance, California on a 13-week contract. The unit averages 24 patients, uses Cerner, and typically staffs 4:1 with telemetry monitoring and cardiac drips. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Administer IV medications and maintain cardiac drips
• Provide oxygen therapy, feeding tube, and line care
• Start and maintain IV access and manage blood products
• Support pre and post hemodialysis care and cardiac recovery
• Assist with cardioversion and other unit procedures

• Active California Registered Nurse License
• ACLS and BLS
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse experience
• Cerner charting experience
• Blood product administration, IV therapy, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation

• NIHSS
• BiPAP and CPAP management
• Central line, PICC, and chest tube care
• Rapid Response and Code team support
• Community hospital experience
