Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Torrance, CA

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide care in an acute care hospital on a neuro and medical-surgical telemetry unit during a 13-week contract in Torrance, California. First-time travelers are welcome, and the unit uses Cerner with telemetry for adults and geriatrics.

• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
• Provide progressive care for adults and geriatrics with neuro and medical-surgical needs
• Administer oxygen therapy and support BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• Assist with TEE, cardioversion, and echo bubble studies
• Maintain isolation precautions and wound care
• Support chest tube management and rapid response/code team needs

• Active California Registered Nurse license
• BLS and ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• 2 years of Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse experience
• Cerner charting system experience
• Progressive care and telemetry skills with neuro/CVA patients, dysrhythmia interpretation, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes, wound care, wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response/code team support

• Phlebotomy
• Pre- and post-hemodialysis management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Community hospital experience
