Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Denton, TX

A Travel Trauma Stepdown Registered Nurse will care for surgical trauma and progressive care patients in a level 2 trauma hospital on a 13-week contract in Denton, Texas. The 25-bed unit uses Meditech, runs 1:4 ratios with telemetry and q4 assessments, and receives many admissions from the emergency department.

• Monitor telemetry, vital signs, and neurologic status for complex trauma and progressive care patients
• Administer ordered medications and manage IV drips for stable cardiac, respiratory, and post-op patients
• Provide post-op care for trauma, surgical, neuro, cardiac, and vascular cases
• Assess for changes in condition and escalate concerns to the care team
• Coordinate care with physicians, charge nurse, and interdisciplinary staff
• Document assessments, interventions, and responses in Meditech

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Trauma and orthopedic experience
• Meditech experience
