Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Ann Arbor, MI

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will care for high-acuity surgical step-down patients in a hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan on a 13-week contract. The unit has a 4:1 ratio, sometimes 3:1, and nurses with ICU background tend to do well.

• Monitor high-acuity surgical step-down patients and respond to changes in condition
• Manage chest tubes, arterial lines, PICC lines, central lines and drains
• Care for trachs, ostomies, NG tubes and wound vacs
• Titrate heparin, insulin, nitro, amiodarone and Cardizem infusions
• Assess, plan and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient status, interventions and responses in the chart

• Michigan Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Progressive care unit or step-down nursing experience
• Strong assessment, telemetry and infusion management skills

• Epic charting experience
