Travel PICU RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Registered Nurse will care for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric intensive care unit for a 13-week contract in Lubbock, Texas. The unit has 18 beds, averages 15 patients daily, uses Epic, and operates in a children’s hospital with a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

• Assess critically ill pediatric patients and respond to changes in condition
• Monitor ventilated patients and support BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula therapy
• Administer IV vasopressors, sedation, and ordered medications
• Perform central line, implanted line, and suctioning care
• Interpret ABGs, telemetry, and dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Document care in Epic and communicate patient status to the team

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• BLS and PALS
• 1 year of PICU experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Experience with ventilated pediatric patients
• Central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation, and IV vasopressor management

• Intubation assistance and ventilator management
• Hemodynamic and ICP monitoring
• EVD, VP shunt, chest tube, and PICC line care
