Travel NICU RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse will provide care for critically ill neonates and infants in a hospital unit in Charlottesville, Virginia on a 13-week contract. The unit has 54 beds, uses Epic charting, and cares for ventilated newborns with high-acuity cardiac, neurologic, surgical, and cooling needs.

• Monitor neonates and infants with complex respiratory and cardiac needs
• Manage high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, and nitric oxide support
• Administer IV fluids, drips, and vasopressors and titrate support as ordered
• Provide post-op, whole body cooling, and admission care for critically ill newborns
• Assist with intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, and chest tube placement
• Perform lab draws, IV starts, wound, drain, ostomy, and central line care

• Virginia Registered Nurse license or pending licensure
• BLS and NRP
• 2 years of Level III NICU experience
• Dr Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate
• Epic charting system experience
• Neonatal dosage calculations and ventilator management

• Level IV NICU experience
