Travel Med Surg RN in Chattanooga, TN

A Travel Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will provide direct care on an acute care hospital medical-surgical unit during a 13-week contract in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The 30-bed unit uses Meditech charting and maintains a 1:6 patient ratio. Clinical coordinators, a unit secretary and PCTs support daily care.

• Assess and plan care for medical-surgical patients with respiratory, renal and GI needs
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer ordered therapies and IV medications, including heparin infusions
• Manage CVCs, indwelling catheters, walkers, IV pumps and SCDs
• Collaborate with coordinators, secretaries, PCTs and case management
• Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery

• Tennessee Registered Nurse license
• BLS
• Medical-surgical nursing experience
• Experience with respiratory, renal and GI patient care
• Experience with telemetry, CVCs, indwelling catheters and heparin infusions
• Teamwork, compassion, collaboration and communication skills
