Travel Labor and Delivery RN in Kodiak Island, AK

A Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide obstetric and newborn care in an acute care, long term care, and outpatient setting on a 13-week contract in Kodiak Island, Alaska. The unit has 4 beds, uses Epic charting, and averages about 10 deliveries per month. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Assess obstetric patients and newborns
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and maternal status
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Manage IV therapy, medications, and blood products
• Provide postpartum, couplet, and breastfeeding support
• Educate parents and respond to obstetric emergencies

• Alaska Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• 1 year of labor and delivery experience
• Obstetric triage, fetal monitoring, and newborn assessment skills
• IV start and maintenance, medication management, and sterile vaginal exam skills

• AWHONN Advanced certification
• Amnioinfusion, internal fetal monitoring, and IUPC experience
• High-risk deliveries, multiple births, phototherapy, and Epic charting experience
