Travel Labor and Delivery RN in Kodiak Island, AK

A Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide obstetric and newborn care in a hospital unit on a 26-week contract in Kodiak Island, Alaska. The unit serves neonates, infants, adolescents and adults, uses Epic, and is part of a Level IV trauma critical access setting.

• Assess laboring, postpartum and newborn patients
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean births and operative deliveries
• Monitor fetal status, maternal response and labor progress
• Administer medications, IV therapy and blood products
• Support pain control, hemorrhage management and emergency obstetric response
• Educate parents on newborn care, breastfeeding and discharge needs
• Maintain documentation and coordinate care with the team

• Alaska Registered Nurse license
• 1 year of labor and delivery experience
• BLS, ACLS, NRP and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Core obstetric, newborn and IV skills

• AWHONN Advanced certification
• Epic charting system experience
• High-risk delivery support, internal fetal monitoring and IUPC experience
• Amnioinfusion, phototherapy and newborn glucose management experience
