Travel Intermediate Care RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Intermediate Care Registered Nurse will care for neurological stepdown patients in a hospital unit during a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The 12-bed unit uses Epic charting and serves neuro trauma, hemorrhage and post-operative spine patients at a 1:3 ratio.

• Assess neurological status and telemetry trends
• Provide care for stroke, trauma and post-operative neurosurgery patients
• Administer medications and manage cardiac and vasoactive infusions without titration
• Support tracheostomy care, oxygen delivery and airway management
• Monitor for seizures, dysrhythmias and changes in condition
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on ongoing patient care

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending accepted at start
• BLS, ACLS and NIHSS certification
• 2 years of intermediate care, PCU, DOU, IMC or stepdown experience
• Epic charting experience
• Strong telemetry interpretation and neuro assessment skills

• Arterial line, EVD and lumbar drain management
• BiPAP, CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula support
• Post-TPA care, IV insulin protocols and PCA
• Feeding tube and surgical drain care
