Travel Intermediate Care RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Intermediate Care Registered Nurse will provide care for neuro patients in a hospital intermediate care unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The 12-bed unit serves adolescent, adult and geriatric neuro patients with a 1:3 ratio and uses Epic.

• Assess neurological status and changes in condition
• Monitor telemetry and dysrhythmias
• Administer medications, blood products and anticoagulation therapies
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Provide tracheostomy, airway and oxygen support
• Care for peripheral, PICC and lumbar drain lines
• Support seizure precautions and isolation practices

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending accepted
• BLS, ACLS and NIHSS
• 2 years of intermediate care experience
• Epic charting experience
• Neurocritical and stepdown nursing skills

• Arterial line, lumbar drain and EVD management
• BiPAP, CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula support
• Feeding tube, surgical drain and post-TPA care
• IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
