Travel Histology Tech in Santa Rosa, CA

A Travel Histology Technician will cut, stain, gross small biopsies, and accession specimens in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Santa Rosa, California. The unit handles embedding, microtomy, automated IHC, and special stains, with Epic charting.

• Gross small biopsies and accession incoming specimens
• Cut tissue sections with microtomy and cryostat techniques
• Embed tissue and prepare blocks for processing
• Stain slides with H&E, special stains, and automated IHC
• Prepare frozen sections and mount slides for review
• Maintain specimen workflow and support quality processes

• ASCP Histotechnician certification
• Associate degree in science
• 2 years of hospital histology experience, including grossing
• Experience with microtomy, embedding, staining, and frozen section prep

• Frozen section tissue handling
• Thin Prep, cytospin, and 24-hour urine processing
• Epic charting system experience and teaching hospital experience
• California state license
