Travel Histology Tech in Santa Rosa, CA

A Travel Histology Technician will process tissue samples and prepare slides in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Santa Rosa, California. It supports adolescent, adult, and geriatric specimens, uses Epic charting, and handles grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.

• Perform grossing, embedding, microtomy, and slide preparation
• Prepare frozen sections and mount tissue sections on slides
• Carry out H&E, IHC, and special stain workflows
• Process anatomical pathology specimens and review tissue quality
• Maintain specimen handling, labeling, and documentation accuracy
• Use Epic to document histology work

• ASCP-HT certification
• Associate degree in Science
• 2 years of histology experience in a hospital clinical laboratory
• Grossing experience
• Experience with frozen sections, embedding, microtomy, and special stains

• Epic charting system experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Frozen section tissue handling
• Thin Prep and cytospin preparation
