Travel ED RN in Walnut Creek, CA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will support emergency care in a hospital on a 14-week contract in Walnut Creek, California. It is a level 2 trauma unit with 44 beds, Epic charting, and a 1:4 nurse-patient ratio, caring for adults with stroke, STEMI, syncope, weakness, trauma, and falls.

• Assess emergency patients and prioritize care for cardiac, neurologic, and trauma complaints
• Triage ambulance arrivals and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Start IV access and draw blood when needed
• Monitor infusions, arterial lines, and other emergency treatments
• Document care in Epic and coordinate with the care team
• Support discharge, admission, and transfer flow in a fast-paced unit

• Current California Registered Nurse license
• ACLS, PALS or ENPC, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• 2+ years of recent emergency department experience
• Recent emergency department travel experience
• Strong Epic charting experience

• TNCC certification
• CEN certification
• 3 to 5 years of emergency department experience
• Trauma and pediatric experience
