Travel ED RN in Salem, VA

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in a freestanding emergency department on a 13-week contract in Salem, Virginia. The 8-bed unit uses Meditech charting and manages patients at a 1:4 ratio. Nurses work with IV, EKG, monitoring, and medication equipment in a collaborative setting.

• Assess emergency patients and prioritize care
• Start and maintain IV access
• Obtain and interpret EKGs
• Administer and mix medications as directed
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes
• Document care accurately in the electronic record

• Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Emergency department experience
• Independent IV insertion skills
• EKG interpretation skills
• Strong assessment skills

• Freestanding emergency department experience
• Independent mixing of pharmacy medications
