Travel ED RN in Kodiak Island, AK

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency care in a 26-week contract in Kodiak Island, Alaska. The unit has 6 beds, sees about 10 patients daily, uses Epic, and serves a Level IV trauma setting in an acute care and long-term care hospital. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Triage emergency department patients across all age groups
• Assess and stabilize patients with urgent medical needs
• Start and maintain IV access and draw blood samples
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
• Assist with ventilator care and procedural sedation monitoring
• Support charge nurse duties and coordinate care with the team
• Document care in Epic

• Alaska Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• 1 year of emergency department experience
• Care of ventilated patients, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, phlebotomy
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring, IV insertion and maintenance
• Previous charge experience

• Trauma Nursing Core Course
• Continuous IV sedation experience
