Travel ED RN in Anchorage, AK

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will care for adult and pediatric emergency patients in a hospital on a 13-week contract in Anchorage, Alaska. The unit handles Level II trauma and behavioral health cases, sees about 165 visits a day, and uses Cerner charting. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Triage adult and pediatric emergency patients
• Assess trauma, behavioral health, and medical emergencies
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency treatments
• Assist with intubation, procedural sedation, and ventilatory support
• Monitor dysrhythmias, ABGs, and neurologic changes
• Support IV starts, phlebotomy, wound care, and isolation precautions
• Coordinate care with respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

• Two years of emergency department experience
• Level II trauma center experience
• Patient ratio experience at 1:4
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• NIHSS
• Alaska Registered Nurse license or compact license with Alaska application in process before start

• Cerner charting system experience
• AVADE and violence de-escalation skills
• Pediatric emergency and neuro-trauma experience
• Burn, chest tube, and spinal injury care experience
