Travel CVOR RN in Portland, OR

A Travel CVOR Registered Nurse will support cardiac surgery in an acute care hospital on a 12-week contract in Portland, Oregon. The assignment serves adults at 1:1 in Epic at a teaching hospital, and first-time travelers may be considered.

• Scrub and assist with cardiovascular surgeries
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field
• Handle blood products, specimens, and surgical counts
• Support cardiac monitoring and intra-aortic balloon pump cases
• Set up electrosurgical and fiber optic equipment
• Document care and procedure flow in Epic

• Oregon Registered Nurse license, BLS, CVOR cardiac scrub experience
• 2 years of CVOR experience, prior travel experience, 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Administration of blood and blood products, cardiac monitoring, specimen handling and labeling, Universal Protocol time out
• Scrub cardiovascular surgery, scrub transplant surgery, CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, femoral cannulation, IABP, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, heart surgery cases
• Electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources and cords, Steris

• Atherectomy and atrial septal defect repair
• Cardiomyoplasty and hybrid OR experience
• Laparoscopic cardiac surgery and LVAD/RVAD support
