Travel Progressive Care Unit RN in Austin, TX

A Travel Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide care for cardiology surgical and medical patients in a hospital PCU on a 13-week contract in Austin, Texas. The unit has 52 PCU beds, uses Meditech, and cares for open heart, heart failure, post-cath lab, valve, and advanced heart failure patients. The setting emphasizes falls and skin care.

• Monitor progressive care patients with cardiac and telemetry needs
• Administer medications and support complex heart failure treatment plans
• Assist with cardioversions and radiologist guided thoracentesis
• Coordinate care with charge nurses, PCTs, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document patient status and interventions in Meditech
• Reinforce fall prevention and skin care precautions

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• 2+ years of cardiology experience with open heart, heart failure, post-cath lab, and valve patients
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Strong telemetry, cardiac assessment, and progressive care skills

• LVAD experience
• Meditech proficiency
