Travel Pharmacist in Santa Rosa, CA

A Travel Inpatient Pharmacist will support medication dispensing, order review, and medication safety in an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, California on a 13-week contract. The unit serves neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with Epic charting. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Review medication orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness
• Prepare, dispense, and verify medications for inpatient care
• Collaborate with nurses and providers on therapy changes and medication questions
• Monitor drug interactions, allergies, and dosing considerations
• Maintain controlled substance records and inventory workflows
• Support pharmacy operations, including automated dispensing and medication storage

• State Pharmacist license
• 1 year of inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience
• Epic charting experience
• Pyxis automated dispensing system experience
• Knowledge of generic and brand medication names

• CPhT certification
• Controlled substance documentation and transfer regulations
• Formulary management, high-alert medications, and look-alike/sound-alike drugs
• Ordering, receiving, returns, recalls, outdates, and reverse distribution
