Travel Pediatrics OR RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Pediatric Registered Nurse will provide perioperative and postoperative care in a pediatric surgical observation unit on a 13-week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. The setting serves infants, children, and adolescents in a 4-bed surgical observation area with Epic charting and trauma level I support.

• Prepare pediatric patients for surgery and recovery
• Monitor postoperative status and extended observation needs
• Assess pain, vital signs, and response to treatment
• Coordinate care with anesthesia, surgery, and other disciplines
• Educate families and reinforce discharge instructions
• Recognize changes in condition and escalate concerns
• Support pediatric PACU and phase I/II recovery care

• Virginia Registered Nurse license, pending accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• 2 years of inpatient pediatric PACU, phase I PACU, or phase II recovery experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Trauma level I experience
• 4-patient ratio experience

• End-Tidal CO2 monitoring and airway assessment
• Central line, PICC, and port care
• Pain management, medication reconciliation, and discharge teaching
• Charge experience
