Travel Med Surg / Telemetry RN in Charlottesville, VA

A Travel Med Surg / Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care for post-surgical and trauma patients in an acute care unit on a 13 week contract in Charlottesville, Virginia. Epic charting supports documentation for a 22-bed unit with cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry.

• Provide nursing care for post-surgical, trauma, and medical patients
• Monitor cardiac status, oxygenation, and respiratory support needs
• Administer blood products and manage heparin and insulin protocols
• Manage central lines, PICCs, peripheral IVs, chest tubes, drains, feeding tubes, and tracheostomies
• Apply isolation precautions and support wound care needs
• Document care in Epic and respond to rapid changes in condition

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Prior travel experience

• BiPAP/CPAP management, epidural analgesia, and PCA experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Wound care, wound vac, skin graft, breast reconstruction, and mastectomy experience
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, ortho trauma, traumatic brain injury, and pre/post hemodialysis experience
