About this job

A Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will provide maternal and newborn care in a birth center within an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Coos Bay, Oregon. The role supports postpartum, gynecologic, surgical, and medical overflow patients, with newborn care, breastfeeding support, and neonatal resuscitation skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide labor and delivery nursing care for mothers and newborns
  • Support postpartum and gynecologic patient care
  • Assist with surgical and medical overflow patients
  • Monitor maternal and newborn status and respond to changes
  • Assist with breastfeeding support and infant nutrition
  • Perform neonatal resuscitation as needed
  • Maintain safe and effective bedside care

Qualifications

  • Active Oregon Registered Nurse license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
  • 3 years labor and delivery experience

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Recent acute care hospital experience
  • National certification in lactation or perinatal care
