Travel First Assist Tech in Salem, VA

A Travel First Assist Tech will assist in the operating room on a 13-week contract in Salem, Virginia. The assignment is in a 10-room main operating room using Meditech. Case mix includes orthopedic, da Vinci, neurosurgery, and orthopedic trauma procedures.

• Assist with first assist duties during complex surgical cases
• Support craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, and Whipple procedures
• Prepare instruments, supplies, and surgical equipment for each case
• Maintain sterile technique and anticipate surgeon needs
• Work with circulating nurses and surgical technologists during procedures
• Assist with total joint and orthopedic trauma cases

• Active Virginia First Assist license
• Virginia Board of Medicine licensure
• Strong first assist experience in orthopedics, da Vinci, neurosurgery, and orthopedic trauma
• Operating room experience with complex surgical procedures
