Travel ED RN in Lubbock, TX

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide emergency nursing care in a short term acute care hospital in Lubbock, Texas, on a 13-week contract. The unit serves adolescents, adults, pediatrics and geriatrics, with 1:3 ratios, Epic charting, a comprehensive stroke program and Level II trauma support. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Triage and prioritize patients with chest pain, stroke, trauma, abdominal pain and breathing complaints
• Assess, monitor and document emergency care for mixed-age patients
• Administer medications and support IV therapy, central lines and vasoactive infusions
• Assist with ventilatory support, BiPAP/CPAP management and respiratory monitoring
• Coordinate care with radiology, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and other team members
• Manage dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and rapid changes in patient condition

• Texas Registered Nurse license
• 2 years of emergency department experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS and TNCC
• Epic charting system experience
• BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care and central line care
• Triage, dysrhythmia management and IV vasopressor support

• Previous charge experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• LTAC experience
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience
