Travel ED RN in Asheville, NC

A Travel Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in the emergency care center for a 6-week contract in Asheville, North Carolina. The unit uses Cerner, usually staffs at 4:1, and can reach 7:1 with behavioral holds in a high-volume setting.

• Deliver emergency nursing care to medical and behavioral patients
• Triage and prioritize patients in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Monitor cardiac status and respond to changing patient conditions
• Administer medications and IV therapies using infusion pumps
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient updates in Cerner
• Support patient experience with respectful communication and AIDET
• Collaborate with techs, clerks, and the care team across emergency areas

• Active North Carolina Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Crisis Prevention Intervention, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 90 days of hire
• 2 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in an emergency department
• Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, high-volume emergency department experience
• Teamwork, flexibility, and real-time coaching skills

• Prior experience in a large health system emergency department
