Travel CVICU RN in Reston, VA

A Travel CVICU Registered Nurse will provide direct primary recovery care for fresh cardiac surgery patients in an acute care hospital critical care unit on a 13-week contract in Reston, Virginia. The 4-bed unit uses Meditech Expanse and cares for immediate post-surgical patients and POD 1-3 cardiac patients.

• Monitor hemodynamics and assess fresh cardiac surgery patients
• Provide direct primary recovery care after cardiac surgery
• Manage vasoactive support, mechanical circulatory support, and critical care therapies
• Collaborate with surgeons and the care team on patient stabilization
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the chart
• Respond to changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly

• Virginia Registered Nurse license
• ACLS certification
• 1-2 years of fresh cardiac surgery patient direct primary recovery experience
• Balloon pump, Impella, Hemosphere, or Acumen experience
