Travel CVICU RN in Gainesville, FL

A Travel CVICU Registered Nurse will provide critical care for cardiovascular patients in an acute care hospital in Gainesville, Florida for a 13-week contract. The 24-bed unit uses Meditech, follows a primary RN model with a unit clerk and occasional tech, and cares for ECMO, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery and cardiogenic shock patients.

• Monitor and manage critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Titrate vasoactive infusions to maintain hemodynamic stability
• Assess arterial lines, invasive central lines and ventilated patients
• Provide postoperative care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
• Assist with chest tube placement, central line placement, bronchoscopy and percutaneous tracheostomy
• Collaborate with the team on ECMO and cardiogenic shock care

• Active Florida Registered Nurse license
• Critical care competence with vasoactive infusions, arterial lines, invasive central lines and ventilator management
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

• Cardiothoracic surgery experience
• Cardiology experience
