Travel Clinical Lab Scientist in Orange, CA

A Travel Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform blood bank testing and transfusion support in an acute care hospital on a 13-week contract in Orange, California. The unit serves adults, manages high-volume type and screen and crossmatch work, and uses Epic charting. It is a Magnet hospital with trauma level I experience.

• Perform blood bank testing and transfusion support
• Process specimens and verify patient identification
• Conduct ABO/Rh, antibody screen, and antibody identification testing
• Prepare crossmatches, antigen typing, and electronic crossmatches
• Manage blood product storage, thawing, and cooling
• Investigate transfusion reactions and report test results
• Follow quality control, safety, and specimen handling standards

• ASCP-BB certification
• 2 years of blood bank experience
• Trauma level I hospital experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Prior travel experience in blood bank
• Strong clinical laboratory skills in accessioning, pipetting, and transfusion workups

• Clinical Immunohematology Scientist certification
• Immucor automation or blood bank software experience
• Fetal hemoglobin testing, component modification, or transplant and donor center experience
• Teaching hospital or community hospital experience
