Travel Clinical Lab Scientist in Newberg, OR

A Travel Clinical Lab Scientist Medical Laboratory Scientist will support generalist testing in an acute care hospital on a 26-week contract in Newberg, Oregon. The role covers hematology, blood bank, chemistry, and urinalysis and microbiology for adolescents, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics in Epic at a Level IV trauma center.

• Perform generalist testing across core laboratory areas
• Process specimens from receipt through result reporting
• Run and maintain automated analyzers and controls
• Complete blood bank testing and transfusion support tasks
• Review quality control and specimen integrity
• Assist with microscopic, rapid, and molecular testing
• Follow safe handling and disposal practices

• ASCP certification
• Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician credential
• 2 years of current clinical laboratory experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Blood bank and generalist laboratory skills
• Accessioning, specimen handling, and quality control skills

• Manual CBC techniques
• Specimen collection
• Venipuncture
