Travel Clinical Lab Scientist in Indianapolis, IN

A Travel Clinical Lab Scientist Medical Lab Scientist will perform blood bank testing in a children's hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana on a 13-week contract. The unit handles routine and specialized compatibility testing and blood component preparation for pediatric and adult patients. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Process and accession blood bank specimens
• Perform ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening, and antibody identification
• Complete immediate spin, AHG, and electronic crossmatches
• Carry out tube method antibody typing and indirect Coombs testing
• Prepare blood components for transfusion support
• Report test results accurately and promptly

• ASCP-MLS certification
• One year of clinical laboratory experience
• ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification, and crossmatch proficiency
• Specimen accessioning, receipt, transport, and pipetting skills

• ASCP-BB certification
• Automated equipment and gel testing method experience
• Cerner charting system experience
• Neonatal, pediatric, and adult blood bank experience
