Per Diem ICU RN in San Pedro, CA

A Per Diem Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse will provide critical care for adults in an acute care hospital in San Pedro, California. The role supports MICU, SICU, cardiac and neuro patients with EPIC charting, CRRT and vasoactive drip management. Patients commonly include respiratory failure, severe sepsis, GI bleed, DKA and stroke.

• Monitor hemodynamic status, rhythms and lab trends
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive infusions per protocol
• Manage ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP and high-flow oxygen support
• Provide care for arterial lines, central lines, PICCs, blood products and IV therapy
• Assist with CRRT, stroke care, sedation and hypothermia management
• Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions and wound and drain care

• California Registered Nurse license and fire card within 30 days of hire
• 2 years recent ICU experience
• Additional specialized ICU experience beyond MICU
• AHA ACLS, AHA BLS and NIH Stroke Scale
• EPIC charting experience
• Critical care skills in dysrhythmias, ventilators, drips, CRRT and line management

• Surgical, trauma, shock or neuro ICU experience
