Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist in Portland, OR

A Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide neonatal and critical care respiratory support in a hospital NICU on a 13-week contract in Portland, Oregon. The unit serves neonates, adults, and geriatrics, uses Epic charting, and has a 1:15 ratio. First-time travelers are welcome.

• Provide respiratory therapy for neonates and other patients in the unit
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and airway placement
• Manage suctioning, tracheostomy care, and airway clearance
• Support noninvasive and mechanical ventilation
• Draw arterial blood gases and perform arterial punctures
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, neonatal transports, and respiratory treatments

• Current Oregon Respiratory Therapist license and Registered Respiratory Therapist credential
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• 2 years of critical care and NICU experience
• Charting system experience
• Neonatal and critical care respiratory therapy skills, including airway management, ventilator support, suctioning, and ABG collection

• ARDS, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and transient tachypnea of the newborn experience
• Bronchoscopy support and fresh tracheostomy care
• Inhaled therapies, nitric oxide, and heliox
• Interdepartmental and ambulance transport, SIMV, and ABG interpretation
